snow...again?

Ok, for those of you who don't live in TN....it may be hard to realize this, but we don't get snow that stays on the ground for more than a few minutes very often. and yet, here we are, snow again so soon? and on top of that, snow again the night before I'm going in for another three night stretch, just like last time....bummer right? maybe not, 'cause if it's bad enough, then we get "inclement weather pay" which pays us a whole extra hour of our base pay just for coming in in the bad weather. how about that? bet the nurses up in Chicago would like that every once in a while :)

the snow and my dog are becoming friends. before when it snowed she was too busy concentrating on where it was coming from and whether or not it was gonna fly up her butt when she squatted to do her business. this was not the case when we took her out tonight. we had a regular dog party out in the snow. she was having a blast. we even took her off her retractable 26' long leash (she doesn't come reliably when she is called, so this is a big deal). THEN it happened. Our neighbor thought to see if the snow could be good for making snow men. Last snow was sooo dry, it made one, but only after the temp had risen and fallen back, but no, this snow is fabulously suited for snow balls and men. So, after she establishes this fact, being the nice person that she is, she gently lobs the snow ball off to the side where it harmlessly rolls a few feet. Spice takes and interesting approach to this. She's not usually one for catch or fetch, but snow balls, apparently that's a different story. She was all over that like white on rice!!! You would have laughed yourself breathless to see it, well maybe not quite breathless, but you would have at least chuckled a time or two. She tore into it like it was the abominable snow man come to life, or perhaps spawn of the snow man....lol, and I digress. IT WAS FUN TO WATCH, at least that much I know. But though it's still early, I believe my spouse is calling me to bed. And after all the fun in our winter wonder land, I think I might just join him. Good night all. And happy snowing.
