birthdays

It's been a while since I wrote, which does not mean that there was a lack of things that were done and said, merely that I've not been here to chronicle the events. Let's see.... February has been a particularly fickle month with her weather choices. Snow and sun have come in turns, with snow taking the lions share of the time. We planned to go to Chattanooga for Feb. 19 - 21, and thankfully the weather cooperated. For those of you who are not in the know, Feb 20 is and was my birthday. The weather was perfect, the people were great and the time we got to spend was well worth our drive down and back. I was able to catch up with some friends that I haven't seen in quite some time, we're so blessed to have so many people that we know and care about. I went for a walk on the green way in Chatt. Sabbath afternoon and saw some old friends that I was hoping to see. Of course there are always those who you miss on trips like this, but I'm hopeful that we can make up f...

hope

I was placing a book I just finished reading back on the shelf when the spine of one of my old friends called my name. The title is "hope rising" and if you've never read it, you should. There are some stories that will make you smile, some that will make you laugh, and then there are those which will make even the most cynical tear up. I was given this book by a dear friend of mine, because she knew my love of horses. The whole book is stories from a place called Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch, which devotes itself to saving both people and horses. Similar to may other rescues, its goal is to find horses in need and help bring them to a safe place and train them to trust again. It also has the joy of rescuing people at the same time. Each horse is paired with one trainer and one damaged child. Then the miracle of healing begins. I marvel at the resilience of both man and beast each time I read one of these amazing stories. Money is lean around here, but my hubby and I are mak...

snow...again?

Ok, for those of you who don't live in TN....it may be hard to realize this, but we don't get snow that stays on the ground for more than a few minutes very often. and yet, here we are, snow again so soon? and on top of that, snow again the night before I'm going in for another three night stretch, just like last time....bummer right? maybe not, 'cause if it's bad enough, then we get "inclement weather pay" which pays us a whole extra hour of our base pay just for coming in in the bad weather. how about that? bet the nurses up in Chicago would like that every once in a while :) the snow and my dog are becoming friends. before when it snowed she was too busy concentrating on where it was coming from and whether or not it was gonna fly up her butt when she squatted to do her business. this was not the case when we took her out tonight. we had a regular dog party out in the snow. she was having a blast. we even took her off her retractable 26' long leash ...

So...I guess I'm a blogger now...

I'm guessing not many people that I don't know will ever read this blog...and that is ok with me. As a matter of fact, I would be ok, I think, if it turned out more like a diary and pretty much no one read it (not to discourage anyone who wants to take the time, mind you). My purpose in writing this may change with time, but mostly to air frustrations, exhault in acheivements and un-tangle my tangled thoughts :) I'm turning 24 this month, and I've been married for almost 3 years now. I've graduated, with my nursing degree, and not looking at returning to school for some time. My spouse is finishing his degree in Finance, while our economy is falling arround our ears, so how's that for irony? I'm plugging away at my hospital job. Just in case I vent about work, then I'll just keep the location of my work a secret (muahhhaaha) lol :) SO, That's done. I've come upon a conumdrum. I was facebook stalking my ex (who I've had no contact with on purp...
