“I am here to check on the welfare of your children on behalf of CPS. We have received a report that your children are in danger.” Those words have sent off shock waves in my body. Immediately my heart rate kicked up and my skin went cool. My head was full, but the clarity was in my core that I was on thin ice, and I didn’t have any wiggle room.
